On Wednesday, July 17th 2024, the Hornby Rotary Club celebrated its 4,000th meeting. Established in 1962, the club has been serving the Hornby community through various projects. One of its recent accomplishments is the successful establishment of the Hydrotherapy Pool in the Matatiki Hornby Centre, which has been well received and appreciated by the community. To mark this milestone, District Governor Dave McKissock of Rotary District 9999, which covers the entire South Island, attended the meeting and shared his vision for the 2024-25 Rotary Year. Additionally, Governor Dave McKissock presented the Hornby Rotary Club with the District Change Maker Award trophy. The award recognizes the club's outstanding work in leading the successful fundraising campaign for the Hydrotherapy Pool at the Matatiki Hornby Centre. This initiative was crucial in ensuring the inclusion of the Hydrotherapy Pool as part of the centre’s facilities.
